CITY OF RIIHIMÄKI
A recognizable brand highlights Riihimäki’s unique glass heritage
Riihimäki is a city in Finland, known for its strong glassmaking tradition. The Finnish Glass Museum is also located in Riihimäki, next to the former glass factory. We designed a distinctive Glass City identity to strengthen and promote the area’s unique position in Finland.
The Glass City sub-brand is closely connected to the City of Riihimäki’s main brand, ensuring a consistent and effective use across different marketing and communications needs. The visual concept of Glass City is based on a flexible glass abstraction, a circular form that acts as a frame for the city’s vibrant, glass-related activities.
The Glass City identity was also extended to the international event identity of the Finnish Glass Biennale. The Biennale’s identity has greater freedom to function as a platform for future editions of the event. The first Biennale was held at Riihimäki’s former glass factory in the summer of 2025, and the following autumn at the Finnish Institute in France in Paris.
